A lawsuit was filed against former Republican People’s Party (CHP) MP Mehmet Tüm due to “insulting the President” through a speech he gave during his Parliament membership. The speech Tüm gave during the CHP Balıkesir Karesi District Organisation congress criticised the Presidential system, corruption and the State of Emergency applications. The first hearing of the lawsuit filed against Tüm will be held on November 13, 2019 at Bandırma 1st Criminal Court of First Instance, starting at 10:40.
