Access to the X account (@Mrt_Ongun) of Murat Ongun, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Medya A.Ş., who is currently detained as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was blocked on January 2. The blocking decision was made under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651 on the grounds of protecting national security and public order. The Freedom of Expression Association announced that the account has not yet been made invisible in Turkey by the X platform.
