Ankara 10th Criminal Court of First Instance rejected an appeal against the detention of journalist Tuğba Tekerek. The MLSA Legal Unit said Tekerek had no institutional connection with KAOS GL and that her only link to the publication under investigation was that a report she prepared in 2024 had been published on the association’s website. The appeal petition argued that it had not been explained what technical data supported the allegation that Tekerek managed the social media account and that there was no concrete evidence supporting her detention. Tekerek had been detained on 13 September and arrested on 15 September as part of the “My Family Is Safe” operation.
