Police officer E.T. was sentenced to 1 year and eight months of imprisonment over beating Zeynal Danacı, who was detained in Kızılay district of Ankara as he was waiting for the press statement to start, and breaking his arm. Ankara 18th Criminal Court of First Instance deferred the announcement of the verdict against the police officer, who was sentenced due to “exceeding the limit on the authority to use brute force”, as the court was convinced that the police officer will not commit another crime.During the prosecution, the claim of Danacı’s lawyers on the file to be sent to the Assize Court had been denied.
