Bahar Yalçınkaya, who was deported to Türkiye with her two children from a removal center in Zurich, Switzerland, was detained upon entering the country and arrested about a day later. Yalçınkaya was sent with her 15-month-old baby to the Bakırköy Women’s Closed Penal Institution. Her lawyer, Murat Özten, said there were ongoing investigations and cases against Yalçınkaya in Türkiye and that he had previously warned Swiss authorities of the risk that she would be arrested if deported. A person staying at the same removal center alleged that Swiss police handcuffed Yalçınkaya behind her back and forcibly removed her from her room in front of her children. Özten submitted a written application to the Swiss migration authorities regarding the deportation.
