The Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office issued detention orders for seven people as part of an investigation into Güzelbahçe Municipality on allegations of “forming an organization to commit crimes,” “bribery” and “extortion by a public official.” The gendarmerie detained suspended Mayor Mustafa Günay’s son Ahmet Günay, daughter-in-law İmren Günay, brother Hüseyin Günay and H.B. One suspect was in prison, while efforts continued to apprehend two others.
