The 4th Civil Chamber of the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice rejected an appeal by CHP leader Özgür Özel against a ruling ordering him to pay 150,000 lira in moral damages to Justice Minister Akın Gürlek. The decision brought the damages ruling a significant step closer to becoming final. The ministry announced that the amount to be collected would be donated to the Turkish Red Crescent.
