The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an ex officio investigation into journalist Ali Çağatay over a social media post he made about the abduction of Erhan Karaal, Deputy General Manager of İBB Kültür AŞ, on charges of “publicly spreading misleading information” and “denigrating state institutions and organs.” The prosecutor’s office issued a detention order for Çağatay.
