The Beyoğlu District Governor’s Office banned meetings, demonstrations and press statements in the district for 24 hours on June 21 ahead of the 12th Istanbul Trans Pride March. Security measures were taken around Taksim Square and İstiklal Avenue. Taksim Station on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line and the F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line were also closed to transportation.
