Democratic mass organizations in Antalya held a press conference on March 16 in front of the Döşemaltı Campus Prison. The organizations stated that Devrim Ayık, a prisoner with a 76% disability and severe health issues who is being held at the S-Type Prison, was beaten by the gendarmerie while being transported to the hospital on March 12. According to lawyers, the gendarmerie kept Ayık handcuffed during the examination and used physical force when he objected. The organizations stated that Ayık was taken to areas without cameras and subjected to violence, and demanded an independent investigation into the incident.
