Students began a vigil in front of the South Campus in protest against the Boğaziçi University Rectorate’s decision to move the rooms of four student clubs from Hamlin Hall to the Hisar Campus. The Rectorate cleared the club rooms on the night of February 7 with police assistance. Students organized a protest march calling for the decision to be reversed. In a press statement, students said that trustee rector Naci İnci had obstructed club activities and liquidated student spaces. Police intervened with pepper spray against students who wanted to march to Hamlin Hall. Despite the intervention, students broke through the blockade, entered the Student Activities Building, and held a forum.
