According to the results of the press screening we conducted throughout February; the police intervened in at least 8 protests and demonstrations, protests were banned in 5 provinces for 15 days. At least 133 people were detained during peaceful meetings and demonstrations. While new investigations were launched against 8 people due to “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”, 192 people were acquitted in the resulting cases. An investigation was launched against at least 1 person, 1 person was sued for “insulting the President”, 2 people were acquitted, and 1 person was sentenced to 2 years, 2 months and 7 days in prison. At least 148 news websites were banned, and at least 13 news websites were censored.
