Journalists Barış Pehlivan and Murat Ağırel, who were on trial for covering the funeral of a Turkish National Intelligence Agency officer, surrendered after their sentences were upheld. Pehlivan and Hülya Kılınç, who were to be imprisoned again, were sentenced to 3 years and 9 months; Aydın Keser, Ferhat Çelik and Ağırel to 4 years, 8 months and 7 days of imprisonment. At the hearing on September 9, the court issued the release of Pehlivan, Ağırel and Kılınç.
