Ivy Association’s Executive Board member Dr Mehmet Selim Ölçer, who was dismissed with a Statutory Decree issued within the State of Emergency in 2016 over providing food aid for the families in Diyarbakır living below the poverty line for ten years, was sentenced to 2 years and one month in prison due to “wilfully aiding and abetting an illegal organisation” in the lawsuit filed against him at Diyarbakır 9th Assize Court.
While some of the cases brought against the managers of the association, who have been delivering food aid to families living in Diyarbakir under the poverty line for 10 years, have resulted in acquittal, some of them are still on trial.
