Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has started an investigation against 26 lawyers, including Bar Association Chairman Abdullah Öncel, due to “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911.” The investigation was based on the Urfa Bar Association’s statement and sit-in protest on July 7 against the amendments to be made on the electoral system of Bar Associations as well as on the Law of Legal Practice.
