The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office forwarded two investigation files concerning CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on June 2. The prosecutor’s office ruled that it lacked jurisdiction over the cases because both individuals are members of parliament. The files covered investigations into bribery allegations related to the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidacy process and the CHP’s 38th Ordinary Congress.
