To mark the 13th anniversary of the Gezi Park protests, civil society organizations, professional associations, and representatives of political parties gathered in Taksim, Istanbul, on June 1 at the call of the Taksim Solidarity group and issued a press statement. The police cordoned off Taksim Square and the surrounding area with barriers, suspended some public transportation routes, and placed the area under lockdown. Participants commemorated those who lost their lives during Gezi in the police-controlled area and demanded the release of those detained in the Gezi Trial.
