Former war pilot Bahadır Altan was fired from Pegasus Airlines after commenting on the plane crash at Sabiha Gökçen Airport for CNNTurk. Altan was a trainer and controlling expert at Pegasus Airlines. On the live broadcast he participated via phone call, Altan said, “Let’s pause for a second as a country. We’re still talking about the third airport, opening canals. The country is like a truck with loose brakes. Those going to save the lives of avalanche victims end up dead. Istanbul expects an earthquake. Let’s pause and prepare for those. We need to be a bit reasonable instead of creating project after project. Let’s just stop.” Immediately after these statements, Altan was cut off the broadcast.
