The criminal complaint made against Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University faculty member Prof. Dr. Yahya Mustafa Keskin, who called writer Hayko Bağdat a “sword leftover” was concluded with non-prosecution. Human Rights Association (IHD) Co-Chair Eren Keskin stated, “the Prosecutor issued ‘non-prosecution’ for Yahya Mustafa Keskin after showing racism and took part in the crime.”
Bağdat had announced, with a tweet on December 6, that he is receiving threats following his column on Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu. “Soylu is a poor man and he will stand trial,” wrote Bağdat. Following the tweet, Keskin targeted the writer with the words, “If you’re brave enough, prosecute me, you sword leftover.” IHD made a criminal complaint against Keskin due to his words being hate speech and included threat.
