Journalist-writer Ayşe Düzkan was imprisoned following the sentence issued against her due to “illegal organization propaganda” after participating in the “Substitute Editing-In-Chief” campaign of previously shut-down Özgür Gündem Daily. Journalists Ayşe Düzkan, Mehmet Ali Çelebi, Hüseyin Bektaş and Ragıp Duran have been sentenced to 1 year and six months of imprisonment each and Hüseyin Akyol has been sentenced to 3 year and nine months of imprisonment at Istanbul 13th Assize Court due to the campaign.
