Following the announcement that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would visit Boğaziçi University on February 13, security measures were increased on campus. The Rectorate announced that classes would be held online due to the program to be held at the South Campus and imposed restrictions on entry to the campus. Police detained some students who wanted to protest at the North Gate. Students reported that they had been notified that searches would be conducted in the dormitories on campus. University sources stated that Erdoğan would attend a program on campus.
