The Antalya Branch of the Human Rights Association (İHD) has published an observation report regarding the March 8 International Women’s Day march. The report noted that intensive identity checks were conducted on some participants prior to the march, that banners and signs were confiscated, and that human rights observers were removed from the area. It was reported that banners featuring a braided hair symbol were not permitted into the area on the grounds of “terrorist organization propaganda.” The IHD stated that these practices constitute a violation of the right to assembly and demonstration, as well as freedom of expression.
