Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turhan did not announce statistics on the access ban decrees against websites. As a reason, Turhan claimed that the data announced may potentially create an “unrightful perception and information pollution” against the Turkish state on the international platform. Republican People’s Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chairman Özgür Özel presented a question in the Parliament and his question was unanswered. “The Ministry confirms that the numbers on access bans are irrationally high, with their avoidance to announce the statistics,” Özel said.
