An indictment was prepared against HSBC Bank Central Executive Officer Süleyman Selim Kervancı due to “insulting a public officer” through a video he retweeted in his Twitter account during the Gezi Park protests. The video, entitled, “Hitler’s Farewell Kiss, complains against the growing Gezi Park protests” was also shared by journalist Ayşe Atman on Twitter with the note, “It’s nice, have a look, you’ll like it.” Kervancı is charged due to sharing the video on Twitter and faces a sentence of imprisonment for up to 2 years and two months.
