Four of six people detained in Sakarya as part of an investigation into ISIS were arrested, while two were handed over to the relevant unit for deportation proceedings. In the investigation conducted by the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, police carried out operations in the Adapazarı and Erenler districts against six people, five Iraqi nationals and one Syrian national, on allegations that they had previously operated within ISIS. All six were detained in operations involving Special Operations police, and digital materials were seized during searches of their addresses. After police procedures, four of the suspects were referred to the courthouse, arrested and sent to prison. The other two were handed over to the Anti-Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates unit for deportation procedures.
