Lawyers filed a criminal complaint alleging that police ill-treated nine people who were detained and arrested ahead of NATO protests in Istanbul. The complaint included allegations of beatings during home raids, reverse handcuffing, confiscation of medication, forced unlocking of phones, denial of water and toilet access, and police cutting a cake in front of the detainees in custody after the arrest order. Prosecutors requested security-camera footage from Çağlayan Courthouse and the Counterterrorism Branch Directorate and launched an investigation.
