Evrensel reporter Doğa Baskan gave a statement to the prosecutor’s office in Ankara over an article that was accidentally published briefly and subsequently removed. The court arrested Baskan on charges of “publicly spreading misleading information.” Her lawyers appealed the ruling, stating that the article had been taken down and that the legal conditions for arrest had not been met.
