Journalist Ali Çağatay was arrested as part of an investigation launched over a social media post he made about the abduction of Erhan Karaal, Deputy General Manager of İBB Kültür AŞ. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office proceeded against Çağatay on charges of “publicly spreading misleading information” and “denigrating state institutions and organs.”
