As part of an investigation led by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, police carried out a raid on Silivri Municipality on June 12. Seventeen people, including Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu, were taken into custody. The prosecutor’s office stated that the investigation involves allegations of bribery, embezzlement, bid-rigging, and criminal organization activity.
