The Elazığ Municipality filed a criminal complaint against Faik Akgün, owner of the website “Elazığ Gerçekleri” (Elazığ Truths), which reported allegations of diesel theft at the Hanpınar Construction Site. Following the municipality’s complaint, an investigation was launched against Akgün on the grounds of “publicly disseminating misleading information.” Akgün stated that his statement had been taken and declared that his report was part of his journalistic activities and that he would not back down.
