Eskişehir Labor and Democracy Platform organized a march yesterday against increasing poverty and low wages. Citizens marched from Köprübaşı to Yediler Park, chanting “We will not surrender to misery” and “Democratic Turkey, life in humanity”.
During the march, the banner “We will not surrender to misery wages!” carried by pensioners was attacked and torn by a woman. Those moments were caught on camera.
Ali Paşa Şanlı, who made a statement on behalf of the platform, stated that the government imposed poverty and misery on the people and emphasized that more than half of the population in Turkey lives below the hunger limit.
