A summary was prepared against People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Tunceli MP Alican Önlü due to the postcard sent to him by an arrested individual at Mardin Type-E Closed Prison on March 30, 2018 in order to celebrate his Newroz.
Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office charged Ünlü with “making illegal organization propaganda” due to the expression in the postcard, “With my faith that the fight of our people, who resist and never surrenders, will be crowned with freedom: Newroz Piroz bê!”
Another summary was prepared against the HDP MP due to “insulting a public officer due to his duty” based on a Twitter post regarding the assignment of Tunceli Municipality trustee Osman Kaymak to Samsun. “Look at those farewelling Osman Kaymak, who is the embodiment of stealing by municipalities in Dersim, civilian deaths and the destruction of our cemeteries, culture and faith,” Önlü wrote on Twitter.
