Academic Murat Büyükyılmaz, giving lectures on finances at Avrasya University (a foundation university in Trabzon) was dismissed from the university due to being “inappropriate” for the job. Büyükyılmaz indicated that he found out about the dismissal with an email he received during a lecture. “The worst part is that you’re tagged by being described ‘inappropriate’ for the job, and this prevents you from working in another academic field in Turkey,” Büyükyılmaz said.
