Former Cumhuriyet Daily reporter and journalist Pelin Ünker, who was on trial due to the news on Paradise Papers reported on the offshore accounts of former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım’s sons, was sentenced to 1 year, 1 month and 15 days of imprisonment as well as 8.600 TL judicial fine due to “insult and slander.” Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance did not defer the announcement of the verdict.
