An indictment was prepared against former Republican People’s Party (CHP) MPs Ilhan Cihaner, Hilmi Yarayıcı and Barış Yarkadaş due to supporting those protesting against the prevention of audience in the hearing room during the hearing of the “MIT Trucks” Case against journalists Can Dündar and Erdem Gül due to “espionage” on April 1, 2016.
The indictment claimed that the three names, who were CHP MPs at the GNAT 26th Session, have “committed offenses by organizing an illegal meeting and demonstration and by joining the group.” The prosecution of former MPs, facing imprisonments from one up to three years, will start in the next days at the Criminal Court of First Instance.
