Amnesty International started an urgent petition campaign for the abatement of charges against 18 students and one academic due to participating in the Middle East Technical University (METU) LGBTI+ Pride March. The petition, addressing the Ministry of Justice, stated, “I am calling you to abate the charges imposed against 18 METU students and one academic with the allegation of having participated in the Pride March on May 10, 2019.
