Yenikapı Theater actress Nazlı Masatçı was sentenced in the lawsuit she was on trial due to “making terrorist organization propaganda” through a previous performance. Masatçı was arrested on January 30, 2019 due to the execution of the sentence against her and was sent to Izmir Women’s Closed Prison. Yenikapı Theater was previously shut down with an emergency decree.
