Artist Cem Akarsu was released after his arrest on charges of “insulting the President” due to the slogan he allegedly shouted at the “Resistance Spring Festival” organized in Maçka Democracy Park. His lawyer Saruhan Kadaifçi stated that the arrest was unlawful and that there was no clear evidence of the content of the slogan. It is stated that Akarsu has been subjected to serious rights violations during her 10-day detention, while the trial process is ongoing.
