The Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into Devrim Demir, former co-mayor of the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, and Şirin Damar, Mardin Provincial Co-Chair of the DEM Party, over a statement they made regarding the appointment of trustees. The investigation concerns a press conference held in Artuklu on August 13, 2025.
