The passport of journalist-writer Hasan Cemal, who wanted to travel to Berlin with his wife on Sunday, the 1st of December, was confiscated by the airport police due to a “travel ban” against him. Cemal had received a sentence of imprisonment for 3 months and 22 days and the verdict is in the stage of appeal. There is no warrant against Cemal.
The objection made against the “travel ban” by Cemal’s lawyer Fikret İlkiz was accepted by the 24th Assize Court and the ban was removed.
