The Istanbul Governor’s Office banned the CHP Istanbul Provincial Directorate’s planned march on February 17, 2026, from Ortaköy to Arnavutköy against the privatization of bridges. Police intervened against CHP members who gathered in Ortaköy in the evening, and riot police prevented CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik from walking on the sidewalk. The CHP delegation crossed to Arnavutköy by sea and made a statement there. Three people were detained during the protest.
