The Ankara 9th Criminal Court of Peace imposed an access ban on February 13, 2026, on a news article by BirGün writer Timur Soykan concerning allegations of nepotism and hiring without the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) at the Ministry of Family and Social Services. The article contained allegations that Deputy Minister Zafer Tarıkdaroğlu’s nephew had been hired as a civil servant and was later arrested on charges of aggravated sexual abuse. The court based its decision, numbered 2026/1863, on the grounds of protecting national security and public order.
