The Lawyers for Freedom Association’s Diyarbakır Prison Commission made a statement on February 16, 2026, in front of Erzurum Dumlu Prison No. 2 against ill-treatment and rights violations. The statement was attended by prisoners’ relatives, lawyers, and members of parliament. Commission members stated that isolation practices had been intensified in the prison, social communication had been cut off, arbitrary disciplinary penalties had been imposed, and the right to health had been violated. The association demanded an independent and effective investigation into the allegations of ill-treatment.
