Two students carrying foreign currency were detained on February 14, 2026, during a press conference held prior to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s opening of a dormitory at Boğaziçi University’s North Campus. The prosecutor’s office referred the students to court with a request for their arrest. The court released the two students under judicial supervision and a travel ban.
