The investigation into Ankara Metropolitan Municipality’s concert expenditures between 2021 and 2024 has been completed. Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared an indictment against 14 people, five of whom are arrested, on charges of “qualified embezzlement”.
The indictment stated that the crime was committed in a chain and demanded prison sentences of up to 31.5 years for eight people and up to 18 years for six people.
It was alleged that irregular payments were made at concerts organized by the ABB Department of Culture and Social Affairs where artists such as Tan Taşçı, Sıla, Sertab Erener, Athena, Haluk Levent and Gülşen took the stage. Former department heads of the municipality are among the five people arrested in the investigation.
