Journalist Öznur Değer could not attend the first hearing of the lawsuit filed against her for “insulting” a police officer, as she was testifying in another investigation. The court decided to wait for the result of the order to take her statement and adjourned the trial to February 10, 2026. It was noted that the accusation was brought against her for her reaction to sexist insults against her during a news report.
