The first hearing of the lawsuit filed against JinNews News Director Safiye Alağaş due to ‘illegal organization propaganda’ was held at Diyarbakır 4th Assize Court. JinNews is a women-based news agency, working with female editors and reporters. The lawsuit was filed following the criminal complaint of Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) with the allegation that JinNews is making ‘terrorist organization propaganda’ in its news. BTK frequently bans JinNews content to access and the next hearing of the case will be held in February.
