Rooms belonging to student clubs at Boğaziçi University were cleared out during a police raid late at night. On the night of February 6, police closed the entrances to the South and North campuses, preventing students from entering. Accompanied by water cannons, riot police, and detention buses, the police entered the campus and cleared out the rooms belonging to the Music Club, Fine Arts Club, Underwater Sports Club, and Sports Council using moving trucks. The students stated that the intervention was part of the policy of clearing student areas carried out by the trustee rectorate and announced that they would not abandon their clubs. European Parliament Turkey Rapporteur Nacho Sánchez Amor also announced that he was following the developments with concern.
