Boğaziçi University students continued on 7 October to protest the third increase in cafeteria prices during the year. University management brought riot police onto the campus and police set up barricades to prevent the protest by students gathered outside the cafeteria. Despite the police blockade, students continued their protest with slogans including “We are students, not customers” and “Budget for students, not capital.” Students demanding free and quality meals said they wanted university management to provide an interlocutor regarding their problems.
