Bursa 2nd High Criminal Court ordered the continued detention of 10 defendants and the release of six in the trial of 63 people, including suspended Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey. The court kept 10 people, including Bozbey and former Nilüfer Mayor Turgay Erdem, in detention and adjourned the case until 30 November 2026. In an 862-page indictment, the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office alleged that Bozbey and Erdem led two separate criminal organizations, received bribes from contractors through irregularities in zoning and building permits, and laundered criminal proceeds through front companies and family members. Prosecutors sought up to 402 years in prison for Bozbey on charges of “establishing and leading a criminal organization,” “receiving bribes,” “causing zoning pollution” and “unlawfully assuming public office,” and up to 946 years for Turgay Erdem. In its interim ruling, the court released Hüseyin Gür, Muhkim Demirtaş, Naci Kale, Tamer İşler, Abdulkadir Alkan and Ahmet Atış.
